Seriously long theory, worth it. The Theory in a Nutshell:
BUNNYS FOR WORLD DOMINATION

Geno and Phenotype
Example: A red and a white peaflower makes a rosa peaflower. These rosa ones produce one quater red, one quater white and a half of rosa.
Everyone (even a normal human) has two Ear Genes:
Wolf-Wolf=Wolfears
Wolf-Bunny=Wolfears
Bunny-Bunny=Bunnyears
Every parent gives one of his genes randomly, and the child has the ears of the strongest gene.
The ranking is up to you, but wolf has to be stronger than Bunny.
If the Wolf genes are stronger than the bunny genes, than the king and queen are half wolves half bunnys, and have both given theyr bunnyhalf to mayura. Maya is either a full or a half-Wolf.
About Cats:
It would be good i they are the strongest genes, so everyone with at least one Cat-gene in them has to be a cat.
The weaker the gene, the rarer are the ears of this gene
This way you could make the "Noble" Wolf ears a sing of Royality only to be surpassed by the Totally pure Bunny ears(Maybe originating from a maiden in ancient times, who had a sappy lovestory with a prince and lived happyly ever after), which only appear if you by chance have pure Bunny-Blood it is possible the pure bunny ears only surface every 100-200 years or so(like the albino-disease, only not a disease), and maybe thats why the king of Minami wants Mayura. Maybe he is halfbunny too and wants Mayura to produce a Bunny heir to the throne instead of his useless Cat-son(I think he is a cat, isn't he), or for Keiji who could be halfbunny half Cat, so anyway to create a stable bloodline of Bunnys, which would strengthen his position in Dimension Zero.

This could also be the reason for all the wars. They feared the future Bunny queen would rally great forces, and become the ruler of all of Dimension Zero.

You get the Idea, breeding instead of love. In Mayas hometown it isn't a big deal and LOVE rules, because they have an awesome King, but in other villages there is segregation and a prosecution of cats.
Also Cats will have no chances of commiting adultery, because the Catears show if it is the son of a Dog/Wolf/Horse/... or not at once.
So I strongly suggest to make a ranking list.(If you want to add mor ears)
Something like this helps a great deal to propell the story once they are Back in Dimension Zero.

Don't sweat it. You can still use this system for future relations between people.
You may not known it, but K-E-Y is until now 100% logical.
Either you did it subconsciously or it is pure by chance.
Or you lied to all of us and you are a genius after all.(like a 200 IQ)
Still, keep in mind that Mayura and Katoos children will not be able to have bunnyears, but Maya and Takuya could maybe (25% chance) and Mayura and Takuya would probably have some (50% chance)
If you keep it this way there is no broblem with a wolfking and a wolfqueen having a bunnydaughter.
PS: Should Katoo and Mayura have a Bunnydaughter Bunnys would have to be strong genes, so:THE QUEEN CHEATED!!!
